The Problem: Maersk Sealand is the world’s largest global shipping company. Facing industry deregulation, Maersk realized an urgent need to modernize their infrastructure and applications, to support their global sales force and maintain their market prominence.
The Solution: ATC executed an extensive project, including the development of a customized offline Field Sales application for Maersk’s sales force and account managers. The solution included a comprehensive set of applications integrated with their back-end Oracle system, a reports distribution system, and a complete communications infrastructure including data synchronization technology. ATC utilized a best-of-breed solution to ensure that data would be transported successfully end-to-end. The system is highly maintainable with built-in software distribution capability so that field users always use up-to-date applications and data.The system has been upgraded to use the latest technologies and Maersk deploys new applications with ease and manages the field personnel laptops from a central location.
The Results: The solution continues to serve Maersk’s global sales force of more than 300 people. It is the foundation for all new sales initiatives.
